Peter Cramer & Jack Waters create a site specific window installation. Just Beyond the Horizon commemorates recently departed friends and neighbors including Leslie Lowe, Agosto Machado, Carol Mullins, Chino Garcia, Janet Panetta, Arleen Schloss, Steven Englander among others who were essential to the artists and to the wider Downtown community.
This idea of remembrance has been part of our ongoing collection of archives that exist after losses of life primarily during the AIDS crisis and now age and infirmity. Previous examples such as Pride 2001: We Remember at the NYC Donnell Media Library and more recently Weavers of the Daisy Chain Gang Chorus -Ties that Bond (2023) realized at the NYC AIDS Memorial, breathe new life into photographs, drawings, posters, found objects and ephemera that share the bits and pieces of our lives and the lives of others.
The work is viewable both from the street window and inside the theater lobby.
