REMEMBERING LEONARD ABRAMS (1954 - 2023)

We are saddened to hear of the sudden departure of our friend and colleague Leonard Abrams, a stalwart denizen of the East Village art and music scene. Allied supported Leonard's renegade club Hotel Amazon that featured talents as diverse as Afrika Bambaataa, Deee-Lite, and choreographer Jo Andres. The venue's location, now known as The Clemente Center was the site of many Naked Eye Cinema screenings concurrent to the night club. Leonard served on the board of directors of the adjacent ABC No Rio  simultaneously with Allied's principal directors and artist-alumni.
